Having problems charging your battery? Don’t worry, read on… (The fix listed below is for Eclipse 180 only)
In normal operation, when you connect your player to the computer, you should get a connect screen with a “blinking” battery in the lower right corner. If you are trying to charge your player, and you get a solid (non blinking) battery indicator, your player is NOT charging. Do not worry, there is a way to fix it!
If you are experiencing issues charging your Eclipse 180 media player, the problem is most likely with the USB charging cable. This problem does not affect all Eclipse 180’s but we are offering all customers a free replacement cable. Until the cable arrives, you can charge the player by following the steps below.
Step 1: Please ensure that the power switch on your player is in the ON position. Looking at the player from the front (so that you can see the screen) this will be the left hand position.
Step 2: Connect the player to your computer.
Step 3: While connected, navigate to the music screen (Press the “M” button 3 times)
Step 4: The battery indicator in the upper right corner should start blinking or “Filling up” this is an indication that the player is charging. NOTE Not all the bars will blink in order for the battery to be charging. It may just be the last bar on the battery indicator. As long as at least one bar is blinking, it is charging.
Note: In some rare cases, you will need to disconnect the player from your computer, and restart the player (set the power switch to the off position for 5 seconds, and then return it to the on position) and reconnect it then follow steps 1-4 again.
Step 5: Following these steps will allow you to use your player while your new USB cable is being shipped to you.
Step 6: When the new cable arrives the player should charge when connected without the need to follow the above steps.
